This winter a very special collection of photographs from a lifetime in St Barth !
Book launch and signing – Sunday 29th December, from 6-9pm
We have been busy working on a wonderful new photography book to be launched this winter :
‘ZOLTY : Carnet Intime de St Barth 1983-2013’
St Barth has seen great change over the last 50 years. From a small rural island with more donkeys than cars, it quickly developed once Remy de Haenen landed the first plane on the grassy strip next to St Jean bay. He brought with him the glitterati of the 1950’s and St Barths soon became legendary. The island developed incredibly quickly whilst at the same time managing to preserve its uniqueness, charm and character to become today the gem of the Caribbean.
We are thrilled to present this beautiful collection of photos of St Barths by photographer Jacques Zolty. Always equipped with his camera, Zolty captured and documented the simplicity and beauty of St Barths as well as its well-healed clientele over the years. Many images will be seen for the very first time and many key moments are captured which tell the island’s story. This book is a ‘carnet intime’, an invitation to view St Barth from the inside, to see what was and what it still is. A wonderful selection of photos of the island’s life its people, visitors and landscapes. Foreword written by Peter Lindbergh.
A book signing is planned for Sunday 29th December at Space SBH Contemporary Art Gallery from 6pm to launch this special book. Jacques Zolty will be in attendance to sign copies of the book and share his stories.
