Victor Matthews
Victor Matthews (American, b.1963) is a Brooklyn-based painter and sculptor. A contemporary of Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Donald Baechler, Matthews is best known for his urban abstractions marked by white geometric motifs. Matthews has exhibited at The Guggenheim Museum, The Sculpture Center in New York City, and in both the 48th and 55th iterations of La Biennale di Venezia. In 2017, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) acquired a major painting by Matthews for its permanent collection. Exhibition History & Publications
