ABOUT YASU MICHINO
Yasu Michino is a Franco-Japanese designer known for crafting leather handbags that seamlessly blend clean, contemporary design with timeless elegance. Born in Tokyo and raised in New York, he studied art history and French literature at NYU before relocating to Paris, where he trained in fashion design at Studio Berçot. His early career included roles at some of fashion’s most esteemed maisons—Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, and Delvaux—where he developed a deep understanding of luxury leather craftsmanship. In 2014, he launched Michino Paris, a brand celebrated for its bold colors, sculptural shapes, and cultural fusion. Designed in Paris and made in Florence, Michino’s bags reflect a thoughtful, global aesthetic that encourages wearers to express individuality through design.
MICHINO POP-UP
Alongside the talk, Space Gallery hosted a private, appointment-only Michino pop-up event, giving guests the opportunity to discover the brand’s latest handbag collection in an immersive, gallery-like setting. On display were signature styles such as the Lutes series, the sculptural Odeon bucket bags, and the elegant Vondôme totes—each combining Japanese minimalism with French sophistication. Visitors enjoyed a personalized shopping experience and had the chance to engage directly with the materials, stories, and design philosophies behind each piece. As a special bonus, customers who purchased using the exclusive pop-up code received a free bag accessory, with a choice from several stylish options—adding a personalized touch to their Michino purchase.
