InsidER interviewed Julie Fumat, also known as "July On the Moon" who is one of Space Gallery's artists. Fumat creates the most wonderful St Barth watercolour collections.

InsidER: How do you express your style (inspiration)?
Julie Fumat: On leaving Les Beaux-Arts in Paris, my favourite artistic medium was photography. When I arrived in St Barths, the beauty of its tropical scenery made me want to try water-colour, a fascinating medium for its play on transparency, leaving lots of room for chance.
InsidER: Tell us about your encounter and collaboration with Eden Rock – St Barths...
Julie Fumat: In 2021, I began to show my work in water-colours on the island and was lucky enough to be contacted by the Eden Rock team to carry out an initial project, that of a map of the island illustrated in the hotel's colours. I am very proud of this achievement which led to superb collaborations.
InsidER: Which environmental cause(s) touch(es)
you most deeply?
Julie Fumat: Global warming is, of course, something that worries me deeply and I try, in my own modest way, to perform routine gestures that will help in the struggle... Though the cause that lies closest to my heart is that of animals and respect for the life of other species.

Julie Fumat Eden Rock Puzzle
Julie Fumat created two watercolor illustrated cards for the kids and pets welcome cards at Eden Rock St Barths.
As part of Fumat's collaboration with the Eden Rock St Barths hotel, she was entrusted with the creation of the hotel's new welcome cards for children and guests' pets. For the children's welcome card, they chose to use the design of the illustration she created specifically for the hotel's children's puzzle, a puzzle representing a slightly crazy animal world.
