Installation view of artwork at the fresh new Space.

Many of you are familiar with Space Gallery —the beautifully curated boutique gallery in the Carré D’Or, in the centre of town. This year, Space celebrates 10 years of bringing art to the island, and to mark the occasion the gallery has a sleek, newly refurbished space that just invites you to stop in, linger, and enjoy the many gorgeous paintings and photographs adoring the walls or sit and leaf through the collectable art books.

The gallery has added a spacious lounge area for enjoying the artwork as well as an extended space with art flowing into neighboring Premier Properties…so its a must on this year’s shopping tour of Gustavia and time to get reacquainted with this new, luxurious space which is full of artwork you didn’t yet know you couldn’t live without!

Space St Barth has a stellar line up of artwork and exhibitions planned through this season —listening to its collectors the gallery proposes new pieces by your favorites as well as introducing more new artists. Additionally the gallery is working in collaboration this winter with the Wall House Museum and the Collectivity to present a retrospective by photographer Iran Issa Khan, now through February 2022.

Jane LaFarge Hamill CL 2, 2020 Oil on cradled panel (10 x 8 x 1.50 in / 25.40 x 20.32 x 3.81 cm)

Hugh Arnold Source, 2016 Limited edition black & white c-print photograph mounted on Dibond with UV acrylic (75 x 50 in / 190.50 x 127 cm)

Our insider tip is to stop by in the evening and enjoy a glass of wine with owner Natalie Clifford, who is always around and eager to share her passion for the artists she represents and shows. You may get lucky and be privy to previewing some of the hidden pieces she has tucked away in the back of the gallery and may just pull out for you to enjoy…

You can also view the current exhibition online and enjoy a virtual visit through the drool-worthy installation photos at www.spacegallerystbarth.com
