A gala coming to St Barth to raise funds for the ecology of the island and the hearts of its inhabitants.
The yearly gala hosted by Art Saint Barth returns to the island for another night of extraordinary programming and impactful fundraising. On January 3rd 2024, The Green Hearts Gala will be brought to you by Utöpia and Art Saint Barth, with the generous support of Chrome Hearts, Vilebrequin, Summum, and Space Gallery.
Aptly named, the Green Hearts Gala has its focus this year on supporting the green and the heart of Saint Barthelemy. The green being its environmental protection and the heart being its need for cardiological care. Through a benefit auction, all proceeds will go to L’Agence Territoriale de l'Environnement and its local associations, and Le Cœur de St Barth which funds the cardiological medical needs of St Barth. These two organizations are crucial to the wellness of the island as they pledge to protect its people and its ecology. Green is in the hearts of the people on St Barth, and it is our duty to come together to protect the ecosystem of the island for the sake of its future.
The title partner of the evening, Chrome Hearts, is an established jewelry, accessories and clothing brand that carries a strong connection with St Barth and the protection of its nature. Laurie Lynn Stark and Richard Stark, along with the entire Stark family, are the creatives behind the brand and prominent changemakers championing the environment and wellness of the island. As business owners, they believe it is their responsibility to nurture and support the environments where they have opened locations, and do their part through supporting cultural events on the island. The Stark family is a fixture on St Barth, and shares a deep love for nature and a commitment to its conservation. As honorees of the evening and sponsors of the event for the second year in a row, the Chrome Hearts family continues to care for the health of the island’s cultural life as well as its environmental future.
The night’s theme will be “Raise A Flag For The Future”, and will boast a collection of limited edition artist flag pieces in honor of the event patron co-chairs. Guests will experience the sun setting over the iconic skyline of St Barth under an array of flags from the Utöpia FLAGS FOR FUTURE project. These artists’ flags are exclusive pieces made by titans of the art world like Daniel Arsham, Enoc Perez, the Haas Brothers, Robert Montgomery, Gilles Bensimon, Jose Parla, and Krista Kim, Tui Nantaya Bhirombhakdi, Tony Caramanico, Philip Colbert, Marco Glaviano, Rémy de Haenen, Rachel Hayes, Jessica Lichtenstein, Victor Matthews, Roger Moreau, Brian Bowen Smith, Laurie Lynn Stark, José Parlá, Hannah Polskin, Alexandra Llewellyn...to name a few. Through this theme guests will immerse themselves in the culture of art, flags, irreverence, and pop art from several renown artists. The evening is set to be a noteworthy occasion, with cocktails, dinner, and a live auction at the Ocean Club, all in full view of Gustavia’s sparkling marina.
The auction of the evening will feature an array of mixed media works and will be hosted by the revered Swiss auctioneer, art dealer, and collector Simon De Pury. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on pieces of art by influential and notable names in the art world. The event and its programming is a can’t miss opportunity to give back to St Barth and participate in its vibrant art scene.
