Join Space Gallery at the Carré D’Or in Gustavia for an advance preview and exclusive access to new artwork by internationally acclaimed photographer Marco Glaviano. This influential and iconic Italian fashion, portrait, and style photographer, whose work has often been seen in Saint Barth as well as in galleries and collections around the world, and on hundreds and hundreds of fashion magazine covers and in numerous books, returns with his new St Tropez series. Here he has taken to the swimming pools on the Cote d’Azur, AKA the French Riviera, and has created eye-catching images of beautiful women (two models: one redhead; one brunette) in the rippling blue water. Stylized and contemporary, these images elevate the swimming pool to an intricate canvas for the photographer’s eye, which captures the abstraction of the body in the water.
 

“This is the first time Marco has done something with an underwater feel,” explains Nathalie Clifford, director of Space Gallery.
 

“He shot these images last summer during Les Voiles de Saint Tropez, at the request of Cindy Crawford. She was looking for something done under water.” The St Tropez images measure 120 centimeters by 80 centimeters and are framed in white. They are a limited edition, with only seven prints per image: Three of the images from the series are in the gallery; another three in the catalogue. “This is something very different for Marco, who is still doing incredible work in his 80s,” adds Clifford. “Much of his iconic work is black and white, so the bold color is new.”
