Arno Elias's iconic Painted Photography collection consists of hand-painted and hand-embellished photographs. Photographed on the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, these images depict Africa's most majestic wildlife – elephants, lions, cheetahs, rhino – and the tribal lives of the Samburu and Masai peoples. Elias hand-paints and hand-embellishes each image with watercolor wash, raw pigments, gold & silver leaf, and diamond dust to create unique works of art. The individuality of each piece plays in Elias' artistic ethos which strives to draw our attention to the unique worlds we are losing to the flattening effects of globalization.

All pieces are unique artworks using limited edition photographs as their canvas. Each piece is signed and numbered on the bottom right of the photograph and mounted on Sintra board. Standard framing comes with a white mat, UV resistance Plexiglas, and a white frame. 

Many of the artworks included in the Painted Photography collection are offered in XSmall, Small, Medium, and Large sizes. Availability for some images in some size options is either extremely limited or closed. All available photographs and their available format sizes are outlined below.
